Ancestral Research Bureau
specializes in finding lost ancestors.
Our particular specialization is making the connections—back from families that migrated from Europe to America and then branched out from the point of immigration.

Both Dennis Lindsey and John Schafer have over thirty years of intensive family research experience.  Both hold Ph.D.’s for which intensive historical research training was a prerequisite.

The unique family backgrounds of each researcher have given him special expertise in making connections back to immigrant ancestors.  Dennis Lindsey’s family tree consistently tracks back through all the states of the Old South to immigrant ancestors in Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina, and in some cases, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

In thirty years’ research to establish his pedigrees back from Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas, he has succeeded in making connections from generation to generation, in many cases identifying the immigrant ancestor for the line he is researching.  His work has provided him with special skills to assist families with Southern roots in proving their lineages.

John Schafer’s ancestral roots lie in Germany, the former German-speaking areas of the Czech Republic (Bohemia and Moravia), Luxemburg, and Belgium.  In his thirty years of work, he has identified (and in most cases visited) the ancestral village of almost all of his immigrant ancestors.

His work proving his German-speaking lines from Minnesota and Wisconsin has given him particular skills in discovering North American resources that allow him to bridge the Atlantic.

Because Lindsey and Schafer work collaboratively, both have acquired research skills useful in the research of the other research partner.  Hiring these outstanding researchers with a distinguished track record at finding lost ancestors and establishing immigrant connections will give clients access to the expertise of two highly skilled researchers.
